We’re headed back to court to protect the Grizzly 

We are entering a pivotal stage in the fight to keep the grizzly bear protected under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Thanks to your past support, Save the Yellowstone Grizzly (SYG) has led the legal fight that has kept grizzlies from being hunted, trapped, or delisted in Greater Yellowstone.
 
Our last lawsuit, which stemmed from the unlawful killing of three grizzlies in Idaho, forced state and federal agencies to be held accountable under the ESA. As part of the settlement, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service committed to revising the grizzly bear delisting rule by January 2026 using facts and the best available science. That victory already played a pivotal role in stopping attempts by Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming to strip grizzlies of protection.
 
But after two years, the greatest threat to the grizzly bear isn’t hunters or politicians—it’s the federal government itself. Despite our hard-won settlement, they’ve shown no intention of upholding their commitment or taking meaningful action to save the bear.
 
This is a clear breach of the agreement we fought for in court. Which means we will be taking the federal government back to court early next year to enforce the law and ensure grizzlies remain protected.
 
That is the next phase of this fight and why we need your help now. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by the end of this year to fund the science, expert testimony, and legal strategy required to win again.
